I think the Inistioge bridge with it's ten arches is beautiful. I visited the village to sketch the bridge in preparation for a wedding stationary commission.
It was built in c. 1765 to a design by George Smith under the direction of the navigation board. The southern side is ornamented by ionic pilasters and cost the public £900.
